Supplemental Educational Services
Under the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) act, each Title I School identified as a School in Need of Improvement is required to provide Supplemental Educational Services in year two of their designation. Due to the fact that Inter-Lakes Middle Tier is classified as a Year 2 School in Need of Improvement for mathematics, we are required by the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) act to offer Supplemental Educational Services (SES) to eligible students in grades five through eight. Students are eligible for this program based on family income and attendance at a school that is identified as a School in Need of Improvement.
Below is information regarding the number of students who were eligible and those who accessed Supplemental Educational Services (SES) since the 2008-2009 school year:
- Twenty-three students in grades 5-8 were offered SES during the 2008-2009 school year. Four students in grades 5-8 accessed SES duiing the 2008-2009 school year.
- Eighty-eight students in grades 5-8 were offered SES during the 2009-2010 school year. Thirteen students in grades 5-8 accessed SES during the 2009-2010 school year.
- SES were not offered to students in grades 5-8 during the 2010-201 1 school year. Inter-Lakes Middle Tier made Adequate Yearly Progress in Reading for two consecutive years and Adequate Yearly Progress in mathematics in 2009-2010. Due to this fact, it was considered a year one School in Need of Improvement. Based on that designation, Inter-Lakes Middle Tier was not required to offer SES during 2010-2011 school year.
